Frequently Asked Questions
Q What is Trim Tech? How is it made? What's it made of?
A Trim Tech is a pre-shaped form. It’s made by combining wire, paper and non-toxic hot melts bent to achieve desired shapes.

Q How is Trim Tech used?
A Trim Tech is used to enhance the exterior of houses and buildings.

Q What alternative choices are there to this product?
A Lumber and foam are the only alternatives to Trim Tech.

Q How does Trim Tech compare to similar products?
A Trim Tech forms render a more durable system giving you a rock-hard surface. Trim Tech products last the life of the stucco without warping or swelling.

Q How is Trim Tech fastened?
A Trim Tech is fastened with galvanized nails or screws (pressure nailed) with only enough force to keep it in place until it receives the first plaster coat. It’s suggested to use products like Easy Seal for the flashings around windows and other openings.
Q Is Trim Tech waterproof?
A Trim Tech itself is not waterproof. It is attached after the job has been lathed, therefore it’s attached to a surface that has already been waterproofed. Fastening Trim Tech will penetrate lath paper as any fastener would, for example, as nails, staples or screws would during the lathing process.

Q Is Trim Tech mold resistant?
A Since Trim Tech products are designed to allow moisture to pass through them, they are highly resistant to rot and fungus.

Additionally, Trim Technology products are:
• Quicker to install than foam or wood
• Less expensive than foam or wood
• Long lasting and will last the life of the stucco without cracking, twisting or swelling

• Versitile—get different details with just one or two combinations of the various sizes available
